PDF/X PLUS SPECIFICATIONS Ghent PDF Workgroup version 4 (= Medibel + version 7)

MEDIBEL+ decides to implement PDF/X Plus v4 specifications

Medibel+ has decided to adopt the PDF specifications for ads in magazines and papers as Belgian standard to forward ads, in accordance with the conclusions of the Ghent PDF Workgroup in 2008.
The same goes for Febelgra and the different foreign organizations - in the Netherlands, France, Switzerland, the United States, Denmark, Italy, Spain, Austria, Norway and the United Kingdom that will introduce the new specifications very soon.

The v4 specifications support the latest software like Acrobat Distiller 7/8/9/X/XI and InDesign
CS2/CS3/CS4/CS5/CS6/CC. A complete list of supported applications can be found on www.gwg.org.

In order to achieve this it was necessary to adjust all 13 PDF profiles and matching Adobe PDF settings (joboptions).

Starting date and intermediate phase

As to the ads in magazines and papers the new profiles will be allowed from January 1, 2010 onward. To download them, click here (can also be found on www.gwg.org ).

Ghent PDF Workgroup v3 Settings (Medibel+ v6) will be supported till GWG v5 (Medibel+ v8) is released.
